When a Stake file upload fails, it is usually the file (too large, wrong format, blurry), the browser (extensions, cache) or the connection (VPN, unstable network). Work through the seven fixes below in order. If it still fails, contact support with a screenshot of the error.
7 Fixes That Work
- Check the file. Use the format and size the verification page asks for. Compress large photos without cropping.
- Retake the photo. Daylight, flat surface, all four corners visible, no glare.
- Switch browser or use a private window, and try the mobile app or desktop site.
- Turn off extensions such as ad-blockers and privacy tools.
- Turn off VPN or proxy and use a stable connection.
- Clear cache and cookies, log in again, and retry.
- Wait and retry later. Temporary issues pass. Then contact support if it persists.

Only if Stake support asks you to inside your account. Never send documents to anyone who contacts you first.
Does a VPN cause upload failures?
It can. Try the upload without VPN or proxy, on your normal connection.
Should I resize or edit the photo?
Reduce the file size if needed, but do not edit, crop out corners or alter the content of the document.
